Critical Software achieves level 5 in CMMI certification

Critical Software announces that it has achieved CMMI Level 5 Certification (Capability Maturity Model Integration), so becoming a member of a prestigious elite of organizations that, at a global scale, have obtained the most demanding, recognized and hard to obtain quality certification in Software Engineering.
Critical Software S.A. has become the first Portuguese company to achieve Level 5 in CMMI, after also being the first Portuguese company to achieve level 3 in March, 2006. By applying CMMI at Level 5, Critical Software aims to strongly augment its productivity, greatly optimizing the processes associated with software engineering and so attaining a much greater ability to plan, predict and mitigate risks related to software development.
CMMI® is registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by Carnegie Mellon University.

Critical Software is a Finalist in the European IT Excellence Awards

Critical Software was one of the four finalists in the European IT Excellence Awards, showcasing the SKIPPER - System, Knowledge, Information, Plant, Performance, EnviRonment - project. SKIPPER is a solution based on open standard, in-line with EDP's corporate architecture, which allows for the leveraging of previous investments in corporate and proprietary systems.

Maputo, Mozambique - Critical Software announced the establishment of a subsidiary in Mozambique and the signing of a contract with the company Águas de Moçambique, to provide consulting services and system integration. Critical Software consolidates a sustained presence in Mozambique, which started in 2001, having since supported the development of some of its more prestigious companies and public entities. Critical Software develops technology for climate changes monitoring satellite

SMOS, a satellite designed to gather data for climate changes analysis, will use technology developed by a consortium of Portuguese companies. With launching scheduled for next Monday, November 2, SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) is part of the European Space Agency. "Living Planet" programme and the first satellite designed to map ocean surface salinity and soil moisture at a global scale, contributing to a better understanding of Earth's water cycle.
